The CDME program requires completion of 3 core courses, 2 elective courses, and a final exam within a four-year time period.  Courses can be taken at DMAI events.  The final exam is a final paper, and exam schedules vary.  See course details
 
To maintain the CDME certification, individuals are encouraged to take one (1) elective course of their choice every three years.
 
 
 
Eligibility

DMAI Members
 
Chief executive officers (includes: CEO, President or Executive Director) are automatically eligible for participation upon completion of the application.
 
Other members must 1) be nominated for CDME candidacy by their respective CEO, and 2) have either a Professional in Destination Management (PDM) Certificate or senior management experience.

 
Non-Members
 
Non-members and any other interested executive must submit an application reflecting senior management experience. Individuals interested in attending only one or a few courses may apply but will be considered for participation based on course capacity.
 
 
Each Core Course:
Member Bureau Staff: US$1,350
Non-Member Bureau Staff: US$1,825*
Each Elective Course:
Member Bureau Staff: US$795
Non-Member Bureau Staff: US$1,095*

*Fees include course materials, continental breakfasts, breaks and lunches, where applicable.
